Areena and Faiq’s Wedding was at the family home. Former Malaysian Prime Ministers Tun Mahathir and Tun Badawi were both present for the ceremony. Spot them if you can.

In Malay culture the bride-to-be has a ceremony which is meant to be a time of reflection and thanks giving for her upcoming wedding. Men are usually not present other than the photography and video teams. Here we see Areena’s Katam the day before her wedding.

I was recently featured in “Faces”, one of the society magazines in Malaysian. They wanted to cover a Malaysian based wedding photographer so we set up an interview. Clicking through the image to make it large enough to read.

Dac and Wai Pin contacted me to be their wedding photographer for their Chinese/Vietnamese/Western fusion beach resort wedding at the Westin Hotel in Langkawi, Malaysia. Two very lovely families. The weather was all over the place with rain coming down during the portrait session, partly due to it being a crazy hot day that ended up with a pool party at the end of everything. Good it was a private pool as the party went on into the night. You can view their wedding below.
We had some time to kill before the wedding so took a few images around the Westin. Looks great doesn’t it.
The day starts with make up.
Wai Pin’s gorgeous red Cheongsam
Dacs groomsmen ready to go

Wai Pin arrived at the Tea Ceremony location first
The tea ceremony would be held on the Westin’s jetty
