Vanessa and Christopher’s weddign was on the beach at the Four Seasons on Langkawi. We started with mandatory portraiture around the resort before heading to the beach for the actual ceremony. The wedding dinner was at the Serai and was both stylish and awesome fun. Once it got dark the whole wedding party went down to the beach to set free hot air lanterns. A couple of weeks later we headed down to Melaka to photograph their wedding banquet for family who couldn’t make it. IView full post »
Destination Beach Wedding at Pangkor Laut Resort, Malaysia
Lay May and Marcel asked me to be their wedding photographer for their wedding at the Pangkor Laut Resort. We had fun shooting the photography for this wedding. Do note the extra studio style lights we put up under the pagoda for the ceremony. We did this to balance the shadowy area under the roof with the bright sunshine everywhere else. It’s important when you hire a photographer that you get someone who is both experiencedView full post »
Reg and Lisa chose to celebrate their day with a destination beach wedding at the Four Seasons Resort in Langkawi. It is easily my favourite beach wedding location. The afternoon kicked off with a Chinese Tea Ceremony in the Rhu bar. We then went to the Spa for wedding portraits before getting ready for the sunset beach wedding. As can be seen in a couple of the photos the sun was very low in the sky before we even got started, so the portraits were mostly photographed in the twilight. TheView full post »
Dominic and Laurens wedding at the Four Seasons Langkawi. This is a second post on this wedding, a transfer from my old site which has more than 100 more photos. Please note that as the following images are a transfer from my old website that they are of lower resolution than my newer postings. That said I do know they look great on my iPhone 6.

Dominic and Lauren contacted me to be their wedding couple for their destination beach resort wedding…at where else? The Four Seasons Langkawi. They were a really very sweet couple and had a touching wedding on the beach conducted by one of their friends who flew in from the USA. Lauren had thought things out well. She had brought print outs on how she wanted her hair and make up to look which really helped the makeup and hair stylists. Another great idea was printing out name badges forView full post »
Another lovely wedding at the Four Seasons Langkawi. Jonathon and Sonia wanted a small and private wedding…the smallest wedding we have covered, bride, groom and zero guests 🙂 It was a romantic interlude before heading back to the UK for the big party with all the friends and relatives. as their wedding photographers we were very privileged to enjoy their special and intimate wedding at one of our favourite photography locations, the Four Seasons Langkawi Beach Resort andView full post »
The beautiful wedding couple at the Datai, Langkawi
David and Nicki called me to ask whether I could be their photographer for their wedding at the Datai resort in Langkawi. This is a beautiful location for beach weddings and is fairly secluded from the rest of the resort. Having the wedding in the evening meant we could photograph some lovely portraits as the sun set. It was a lot of fun and we all got tanned!

Lucas and Liz contacted me to be their wedding photographer for their delightful destination wedding at the Four Seasons Beach resort in Langkawi. It turned out to be a wet and blustery day with the weather not knowing what it was going to do. The big question was whether it would rain or not. We started with portraits around the resort and then waited for some passing showers (could we call these “bridal showers”?) then we headed for the beach for the wedding ceremony. TheView full post »
Adrienne first contacted me to be her wedding photographer whilst living in New York. My heart leapt when she told me she was planning a stylish wedding at the Four Seasons in Langkawi. I was also pleased to hear that Blair is a fellow Kiwi (a New Zealander). Adrienne’s family is from the UK. It was a fun wedding just off the beach. It was a lot hotter than it looks! I LOVED shooting this wedding and they were very pleased with the results.

Wedding at Four Seasons Beach Resort, Langkawi
Some samples from our latest shoot at the Four Seasons Langkawi. Chris and Joyce contacted me to be their wedding photographer for a small and intimate wedding. Their destination beach wedding was beautiful, with the weather holding up well, too well perhaps, as it was very hot!
Joyce looked stunning

Recently I travelled up to Perhentian island off the east coast of Malaysia to cover a Bulgarian/Punjabi wedding. It was a pretty intense 5-6 hour trip as I ran from one wedding in KL to the airport for my flight, land travel then boat to get to the venue which was the Perhentian Island Resort. Within minutes of arrival I was able to set up my gear and get shooting the walk in for the sumptuous barbecue wedding dinner. There were a number of interesting Bulgarian traditions including theView full post »
Steve and Natalia are from the UK and Russia respectively, and decided to have a beautiful intimate pastel themed wedding at one of my favourite resorts, the Four Seasons in Langkawi. Only two of the family could make it out to Malaysia and it was a wonderful experience despite it being one of the hottest days I can remember while shooting at this location. Steve enjoyed it so much he had a quick swim during the portrait session! The civil ceremony itself is usually fairly fast (5 minutes) so IView full post »
I have started doing underwater photography in pools recently. It has been a long time coming as I have wanted to do it for years. Here is my first attempt and I would have to say both my model and I really enjoyed the session. It’s now her Facebook banner and profile photo so I know she was more than happy. If you are interested in having a series of underwater photos taken let me know and we can proceed to plan a session together. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

We covered a wonderful Persian Wedding at the Four Seasons Langkawi complete with honey and sugar cone ceremonies. It was very intimate and tasteful. Just how I love weddings to be. I have included over 100 photos from this wedding for your pleasure. Cameras used at this wedding were the Canon 5Dmk3, Fuji X-T1 and XM1, and the Nikon 610. We like being equal opportunity photographers 🙂View full post »

Carnjini and Iyadi met in Australia while studying. Carnjini is from Malaysia while Iyadi hails from Kenya. They had a two continent wedding with one in Kenya overlooking the ocean, followed by one in Port Dickson, Malaysia. There are quite a number of resorts in Port Dickson, known as PD locally. The couple decided on the Thistle and the photos will certainly show you why. I hope you enjoy the wedding photos as much as we had fun taking them and sharing the joy that was obvious during theView full post »
“When you start planning your wedding, you enter into a whole new world that can come with a shockingly high price tag. It’s natural to look for places to cut corners, but here are some facts to consider before hiring an amateur photographer for your wedding day.
1. The number one regret of couples after the wedding is not investing more money in a photographer.
When the wedding is over, all you have left are your photographs. Unfortunately, it’s not until AFTER the wedding that mostView full post »
Wedding at the Datai Resort Langkawi, Malaysia
I have been moving all of my older weddings from decaying DVD’s onto a new server and have been coming across some real gems of weddings that we have covered over the past 15 years(!) I realise now that when I moved from my old HTML 1.0 web site to wordpress that hundreds of my older wedding posts never followed us along! Ouch! So I am busy picking out some of them for reposting as time permits. This wedding is from December 2005. Back thenView full post »
Last week I endured the heat and severe sunburn (left the sunscreen in the hotel room aaargh!!!!) on Perhentian for a honey moon shoot…OK endured is a harsh word….in reality ENJOYED is a the totally accurate term! :-) I was approached by Pina and Ahmed’s close friend Zina from Germany a few weeks ago and asked whether I would be open to heading up to Pulau Perhentian Kecil to cover part of their honeymoon. For those outside Malaysia reading this “Pulau” isView full post »
Sunset Wedding at the Westin Langkawi
Matt and Susan contacted me from Singapore to ask me to be their wedding photographer to cover their destination beach resort wedding at the Westin on the beautiful island of Langkawi. I love beach weddings as they are usually small, intimate informal affairs. The wedding photos speak louder than words so please enjoy. Cameras used for this wedding were the Nikon D3, Canon 5DMk3 and both the Fuji Xpro1 and XE1.View full post »

Over the years I have been to many hotels throughout Malaysia and wanted to put up some of my suggestions.
Four Seasons Langkawi Island: Intimate and quiet. The perfect honeymoon destination where everyone know your name. You can enjoy the infinite pool, water sports, cycle rides to waterfalls. his hotel tops my list for couples who want that something special. They have a variety of specials for honeymoon couples so best you call ahead.
Pangkor Laut Resort: Another very pleasant location. AView full post »
Dominic and Wei-Wei celebrated their wedding ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort in Langkawi. This is one of my favourite destination wedding resorts. The hotel pulled out all the stops to make sure this was a fairy tale wedding. The weather held, and we had a great party that night. Lanterns finished off the evening.

Sunset Photo at the Westin Beach Resort Hotel on Langkawi
Dac and Wai Pin contacted me to be their wedding photographer for their Chinese/Vietnamese/Western fusion beach resort wedding at the Westin Hotel in Langkawi, Malaysia. Two very lovely families. The weather was all over the place with rain coming down during the portrait session, partly due to it being a crazy hot day that ended up with a pool party at the end of everything. Good it was a private pool as the party went on into theView full post »
