Valentines Day Pub and Bar Photography at Happer’s

Fuji XT-1 APD high ISO Matchzsticks Valentines Day party at Happer's Pub Bar

I was asked to shoot an “Anti-Valentines Day” singles get together at Happer’s Bar and Pub in Damansara Jaya near the Atria shopping Mall for Matchzsticks on Valentines day. It was a fun event and lots of singles got together to meet old friends and make new ones. Shooting was fairly challenging as it was mostly lit by candle light. Due to this most of the photos below were shot between ISO 6,000 and 10,000 using the Fuji X-T1 with 56mm APD F1.2 and a Canon 5DMk3 with a 24-70 F2.8, hence the graininess of some of the images.

The popping of the Piñata was certainly a highlight of the evening 🙂

80th Birthday and 50th Wedding Anniversary Combo Celebration at the Clark Ballroom in the Le Meridien Hotel

Valentines Day 2015. CY Hiew was blessed with a lovely Valentines Day combination celebration at the Clark ballroom in the Le Meridien hotel. It was his 80th birthday as well as 50th Wedding Anniversary with his lovely wife. The event was organized by his children and they blessed their father by displaying his milestones for his guests to enjoy. One of the highlights was the family tree, tracing the family lineage back 50 generations (800 years) to the Song dynasty.

I just received a whatssap from the family which made my day and will share it here: “I’m away with low bandwidth access, but was able to briefly look through the photos. They are lovely and thank you so much for capturing all the right moments. I’ve shared the photos with my family. It was a pleasure to work with you and thanks for the excellent work and demonstrating utmost professionalism.”

1st Birthday Party Baby Photography at the Westin Hotel

Natalie’s 1st Birthday was held at pool side at the Westin hotel and featured family, friends, ice cream (Yummy!), birthday treats and a balloon sculpting clown. It was a fun and relaxed afternoon. Later we did some family portraits pool side. This was also my first experience with the new Fuji 56mm APD f1.2. Unlike Canon’s 85mm f1.2 this lens inspires confidence because it focuses faster than the Canon, and is almost always in sharp focus.

Underwater “Mermaid” Pool Portrait Photography

I have started doing underwater photography in pools recently. It has been a long time coming as I have wanted to do it for years. Here is my first attempt and I would have to say both my model and I really enjoyed the session. It’s now her Facebook banner and profile photo so I know she was more than happy. Underwater Pool Pregnancy Portrait Photography

This is part of an underwater shoot in which two ladies assisted me as models. One of them, pictured in this series of images, wanted to have her pregnancy recorded. I shoot pregnancy photos but have been wanting to do something quite different from what is being offered in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya at the moment. Shooting pregnancy portrait photography underwater was a relaxing and cool (pun intended) thing to do. I hope you enjoy the photos I am including below.
