Thank you for considering me to cover your event.

We provide affordable wedding photography tailored to sensible budget ranges. Sensible budgets according to many bridal magazines is approximately 10% of the total wedding budget.  Past clients who have stretched their budget to obtain our services have told us we are very good value for money. It is also important to remember that after your wedding day, after the food is eaten, the cake consumed, the guests have gone home, and the gown and shoes are put away never to be worn again, that the only thing you will have to remember your wedding day will be the heirloom our photography creates for you and your family to enjoy for the next 70-80 years. This makes our pricing exceptional value for money.

As I get a lot of emails for how much we charge, and of course for "best price" I will explain a little bit about why we are one of the leaders in actual day wedding coverage. There are several factors which affect pricing which distinguish us from the hobbyist shooter.

I will expand briefly below.

Skill and Experience: When it comes to photography the skill and experience of the person holding the camera is ESSENTIALGrant Corban (and the team) are very experienced. We have several hundred successful wedding shoots completed over the past 10 years. On this web site I have included links to THOUSANDS of images so you know we are not trying to win business from a few lucky shots. Every event we go to is different. The light is different and needs to be taken into account with an immediacy that can flummox an inexperienced shooter.

Quality of images: As we shoot RAW, the quality of images are very high, and therefore require the aforementioned hours of editing work. In seminars I have taught it is apparent that many photographers in Malaysia  shoot inferior jpg images, ultimately due to lack of commitment to the final image quality. Jpgs have extremely limited dynamic range, and require the photographer to surrender quality control and image processing to the camera. This causes all sorts of exposure problems which you likely do not see due to the use of the "delete" key. We call these photographers the "spray and pray" as they typically machine gun the wedding and then hope they have enough quality shots at the end of the day. I personally would not like to fall prey to  the "spray and pray" shooter.

Time involved in post production: After each wedding Grant personally spends time working on EVERY image taken. This adds 25-30 hours of time in front of a computer that you do not see, however the time spent gives all of the photos a consistent look and feel which have won him work contracts.

EQUIPMENT: We do not show up at a wedding with a consumer camera, lens and a flash. We bring professional level cameras and lenses, backup cameras, lighting, stands and assorted equipment which can  easily total over RM100,000 to your wedding day. We bring the best as you deserve the best.

ATTITUDE: We understand it is not our photography shoot, it is your wedding or event. As such we try to be as unobtrusive as possible. There are no rugby scrums at the altar so that nobody can see the wedding taking place. At many weddings we assist the couple far more than a mere photographer would and are often stabilizers to a very hectic day for the couple. Many times other guests think we are actually friends of the couple!

John Ruskin, an influential English art critic said:

"It’s unwise to pay too much. But it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money, that is all. When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better."

When you inquire please let me know the following

I will then either call or email you to arrange an appointment. Please note this a preliminary meeting for us both to get to know each other. Booking is neither expected nor asked at this meeting.

Regarding pricing....it varies between RM2,500 up to RM20,000 depending on what is entailed. While budgets are typically in the RM5,000 to RM6000 range, it is best to make a mental note that bridal magazines usually estimate the photography will be approximately 10% of your wedding budget. Multi day events are usually 2-3x the normal budget range.

When when we meet up we can go through what we can provide for you.

BOOKING: Bookings are a mutual agreement. We need to check our schedules and availability on the date, then require a signed quotation with booking fees. If you give a verbal booking and do not follow up immediately with the booking fee and signed quotation you are not booked.

I look forward to partnering with you and be the wedding photographer on your special day.

Thank you.
