Providing couples timeless memories through wedding, portrait and family photography
International weddings are the weddings I shoot outside of Malaysia, and include weddings in the USA, UK, Ireland, France, Australia, Indonesia, India, New Zealand and various other countries.
Emma and Aidans wedding was held on a glorious summers day at the Hilton Hotel situated on Princes wharf in Auckland, New Zealand. Auckland is my home town and it was certainly a treat to head down there with my shooting partner Pacino Wong so we could capture this really spectacular wedding. The gown was beautiful and the pastel colours of the bridesmaids dresses was really pretty. Aiden and the lads really looked smart too. Hope you enjoy it. And if you are in Auckland planning a wedding,View full post »
Recently I travelled up to Perhentian island off the east coast of Malaysia to cover a Bulgarian/Punjabi wedding. It was a pretty intense 5-6 hour trip as I ran from one wedding in KL to the airport for my flight, land travel then boat to get to the venue which was the Perhentian Island Resort. Within minutes of arrival I was able to set up my gear and get shooting the walk in for the sumptuous barbecue wedding dinner. There were a number of interesting Bulgarian traditions including theView full post »
Steve and Natalia are from the UK and Russia respectively, and decided to have a beautiful intimate pastel themed wedding at one of my favourite resorts, the Four Seasons in Langkawi. Only two of the family could make it out to Malaysia and it was a wonderful experience despite it being one of the hottest days I can remember while shooting at this location. Steve enjoyed it so much he had a quick swim during the portrait session! The civil ceremony itself is usually fairly fast (5 minutes) so IView full post »
Jared and Marianna contacted me 3 days before their wedding ceremony to ask whether I was free to cover their wedding. Yes 3 days! How does that happen? Romantic story. Jared is originally from Malaysia , and was visiting relatives back here with his parents and siblings along with his Russian fiance Marianna, when the suggestion was made to have their wedding ceremony brought forward so all of the local relatives including his aging grandmother could attend. And so it happened!

We covered a wonderful Persian Wedding at the Four Seasons Langkawi complete with honey and sugar cone ceremonies. It was very intimate and tasteful. Just how I love weddings to be. I have included over 100 photos from this wedding for your pleasure. Cameras used at this wedding were the Canon 5Dmk3, Fuji X-T1 and XM1, and the Nikon 610. We like being equal opportunity photographers 🙂View full post »

“When you start planning your wedding, you enter into a whole new world that can come with a shockingly high price tag. It’s natural to look for places to cut corners, but here are some facts to consider before hiring an amateur photographer for your wedding day.
1. The number one regret of couples after the wedding is not investing more money in a photographer.
When the wedding is over, all you have left are your photographs. Unfortunately, it’s not until AFTER the wedding that mostView full post »
Beautiful flowers at the church in Pekanbaru, Indonesia
Just back yesterday from covering a church wedding in Pekanbaru, Sumatra, Indonesia. Saw lots of friends from City Harvest Church in Subang Jaya as most of the friends in attendance know the bride and groom from their student days studying in Sunway/Taylors colleges. Pastor Kevin from City Harvest Subang was in attendance and made mention that it was the biggest reunion of the Indonesian contingent from City Harvest. All the old leadersView full post »
Wedding at the Datai Resort Langkawi, Malaysia
I have been moving all of my older weddings from decaying DVD’s onto a new server and have been coming across some real gems of weddings that we have covered over the past 15 years(!) I realise now that when I moved from my old HTML 1.0 web site to wordpress that hundreds of my older wedding posts never followed us along! Ouch! So I am busy picking out some of them for reposting as time permits. This wedding is from December 2005. Back thenView full post »
Last week I endured the heat and severe sunburn (left the sunscreen in the hotel room aaargh!!!!) on Perhentian for a honey moon shoot…OK endured is a harsh word….in reality ENJOYED is a the totally accurate term! :-) I was approached by Pina and Ahmed’s close friend Zina from Germany a few weeks ago and asked whether I would be open to heading up to Pulau Perhentian Kecil to cover part of their honeymoon. For those outside Malaysia reading this “Pulau” isView full post »
Sunset Wedding at the Westin Langkawi
Matt and Susan contacted me from Singapore to ask me to be their wedding photographer to cover their destination beach resort wedding at the Westin on the beautiful island of Langkawi. I love beach weddings as they are usually small, intimate informal affairs. The wedding photos speak louder than words so please enjoy. Cameras used for this wedding were the Nikon D3, Canon 5DMk3 and both the Fuji Xpro1 and XE1.View full post »
Looking for a destination wedding photographer? My core photography covers a broad spectrum of wedding faiths, including Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Baha’i, and Hindu weddings. As a New Zealander most of my several hundred weddings are cross cultural. Being based in Malaysia we have easy access to both eastern and western hemispheres. My clientele quickly realise that we offer competitive pricing, fast turnaround, excellent service, and excellent quality.

After their wedding (view here) Mark and Liz joined their wedding guests for the reception held in the idyllic surroundings of the Cockliffe Country House Hotel & Restaurant. They opted for a canopy and tent which gave the images a beautiful diffused light. The weather held up well, which in turn meant we could all enjoy the grounds both before, during and after the reception. We had covered portraits at the church but opted for a few more inside Cockliffe as well.

Mark and Liz Barleys Wedding St-Katherines in Teversal, Nottingham
Mark and Liz’s wedding was in July, 2006 at St Katherines in the village of Teversal, in Nottinghamshire. Robin Hoods territory. This was the first of a series of weddings I covered in the UK which spawned off a wedding I had covered in Kuala Lumpur for one of there friends. It was at that time that we made our acquaintances and Mark and Liz took a gamble in having us come out to photograph their wedding for them. HockView full post »
Wedding at the Parish Church of St. Mary and St Peter Winford
Keep Calm and Carry On! Words I wish every bride I met would take to heat, and very much the theme for Mark and May. Two of the loveliest people I know.
Johnny, Hock Seng and I were their wedding photographers when they were married back here in Malaysia. After the wedding the migrated down to Australia but when ever they were back in KL they would give me a buzz to remind me they wanted me to be up in Winford for their UK weddingView full post »
Blenheim Palace is a very pretty location for wedding portraits
Alan and Khami’s wedding was a two day event. The first day was a Hindu wedding at the new Shri Subramanya Shrine in Birmingham. It was on the same day as Prince William And Kate Middleton’s big day, so auspicious as they come. The second event was wedding portraiture and a fantastic wedding breakfast at the Orangery, Blenheim Palace, Oxford. The gardens there are phenomenal. Weather turned out great and everyone had aView full post »

Darrell and Lena split their wedding between two countries so family members in both countries could enjoy their wedding day. The first part of their wedding was held in Caversham Park,Perth, Australia. The day began with bridal preparations and then it was off to Caversham Park for the outdoor wedding. The dinner reception was at the Perth City Hall. Back in Malaysia the church wedding was at Assumption Roman Catholic church in Petaling Jaya, followed by a wedding dinner at the Westin HotelView full post »
Reg and Lisa chose to celebrate their day with a destination beach wedding at the Four Seasons Resort in Langkawi. It is easily my favourite beach wedding location. The afternoon kicked off with a Chinese Tea Ceremony in the Rhu bar. We then went to the Spa for wedding portraits before getting ready for the sunset beach wedding. As can be seen in a couple of the photos the sun was very low in the sky before we even got started, so the portraits were mostly photographed in the twilight. TheView full post »
Dominic and Laurens wedding at the Four Seasons Langkawi. This is a second post on this wedding, a transfer from my old site which has more than 100 more photos. Please note that as the following images are a transfer from my old website that they are of lower resolution than my newer postings. That said I do know they look great on my iPhone 6.View full post »
Dominic and Lauren contacted me to be their wedding couple for their destination beach resort wedding…at where else? The Four Seasons Langkawi. They were a really very sweet couple and had a touching wedding on the beach conducted by one of their friends who flew in from the USA. Lauren had thought things out well. She had brought print outs on how she wanted her hair and make up to look which really helped the makeup and hair stylists. Another great idea was printing out name badges forView full post »
Grant Corban marshalling a very large group photo at Tortworth Court, Cotswalds
Ben and Gemma celebrated their wedding at Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire. in the Cotswalds, just north of the city of Bristol, England. They planned on a long day with three ceremonies which made it a grand affair. The day started with the typical preparation of the bride, hair and make up, then proceeded to the three different wedding ceremonies! The first was a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony,View full post »
The boys having fun in their kilts
Andrew and Joanna contacted me to come over to Northern Ireland to be their wedding photographer. We had shot for some of their friends down here in Malaysia, where they met us the first time, and they loved our work so much (or maybe it was our comparatively cheap prices) that they were very keen for us to pop on over to Ireland. We stayed in a fantastic place in central Belfast called Benedicts Hotel. If you are headed to Belfast I thoroughly recommendView full post »
Another lovely wedding at the Four Seasons Langkawi. Jonathon and Sonia wanted a small and private wedding…the smallest wedding we have covered, bride, groom and zero guests 🙂 It was a romantic interlude before heading back to the UK for the big party with all the friends and relatives. as their wedding photographers we were very privileged to enjoy their special and intimate wedding at one of our favourite photography locations, the Four Seasons Langkawi Beach Resort and Spa.View full post »
The beautiful wedding couple at the Datai, Langkawi
David and Nicki called me to ask whether I could be their photographer for their wedding at the Datai resort in Langkawi. This is a beautiful location for beach weddings and is fairly secluded from the rest of the resort. Having the wedding in the evening meant we could photograph some lovely portraits as the sun set. It was a lot of fun and we all got tanned!

Sugi called me from Canada to ask if I could be the photographer for her wedding in Kerala, India, where they had chosen a beautiful resort for the wedding. For those who have not been to Kerala, it is very beautiful and green, very similar to Malaysia in many ways with lots of jungle and rubber plantations. As the date got closer something came up so the venue was switched to the Accord Metropolitan hotel in the middle of Chennai (Madras). This posed some challenges as the Sapphire room whichView full post »
It was a fabulous day for Andrew and Gemma’s wedding in Chilton Foliat, Hungerford.
Andrew and Gemma’s Wedding was in St Mary’s, Chilton Foliat, Berkshire, England. In UK churches flash photography is usually not allowed and as it was a dull wet day most of the interior church shots were taken at 6400ISO using available light. Chilton Foliat is just outside of the village of Hungerford, famed for its antiques. Andrew surprised his lovely bride Gemma by renting a beautifulView full post »
Part of the modernisation of my site included moving Tyler and Chuan’s wedding over to the new sites format, but in the transition I left about 200 photos behind. Time to rectify that! Below you will see many photos from their garden wedding at Pulai Springs Johor followed by portraits and their Ballroom Banquet. One of my favourite photos was their first dance. The original post is also on this site, but with far fewer photos.
BTW Tyler is from New Zealand. A kiwi like me!

Tyler and Chuan-Chuan’s wedding in Pulai Springs Johor was so much fun. Both were delightful and had a really nice garden wedding that was fun for everyone who came. Tyler’s a New Zealander and there was definitely some influence coming through during the day. As you can see from their wedding photos it was a great wedding.View full post »
A Red Sox T-Shirt Wedding Favour
I was thrilled when Randy and Yin mei asked me to fly to Boston to be their wedding photographer. After we flew into new York we drove up to Boston for the wedding. It was a perfect autumn day in the historic city of Boston, Massachusetts when Randy and Yin Mei tied the knot. The wedding was in the Paulist Center and then on to Boston Common for the portraits. The reception was at the Hellenic Center in Ipswich. We had covered Randy and Yin Mei’s weddingView full post »

Been digging around the archives and finding some of our older weddings. This one was in Tirtha Uluwatu, Bali. We went down in 2005 to shoot this for Victor and Michele. Dushen and Sherri had a huge multi day wedding back in Kuala Lumpur, but had a smaller intimate and really fun filled wedding in Ubud Bali. The first night was a cool chill out at the Jazz Cafe, a well known restaurant and night spot followed the next day with a wedding ceremony put together by their friends. These photos tell part of their story.
Technical: Camera used was the Canon 20D with the 17-40L, 50mm 1.4 and 85 F1.8. Thankfully DSLRs have advanced quite substantially from 2005 as theView full post »
